About Roy Bishop House Movers — Our Stockbridge Family

Stockbridge-born, family-run since 2012, same crew loading and unloading

It began in 2012 when Roy Bishop opened up with one truck in a Davis Road garage bay; from that one stubborn rule — a flat price in writing — his son Wade grew Roy Bishop House Movers into a full Henry County crew running its own trucks.

I’m Wade Bishop, born and raised in Stockbridge. Before I ever ran the office I was carrying furniture on my dad’s crew, learning two things by heart: how a 26-footer backs down a red-clay driveway, and how quick a family gets stung when the meter keeps ticking after the truck’s already loaded.

From one garage bay to a full crew

My father, Roy Bishop, opened this company in 2012 with one truck out of a single garage bay off Davis Road. I took the wheel to fix exactly what I’d seen go wrong for other outfits: read the job, quote a flat price, sign it, then honor it no matter what Georgia weather throws at us. Today we’re a full Henry County crew, and I still build the truck board myself most mornings.

Who shows up at your door

There are 17 of us, roughly 13 on trucks any given day. Renata Sikes runs the office — scheduling, certificates of insurance, and billing all cross her desk. DeAndre Colquitt works the daily board across Henry and Clayton. On the crew, Colby Whatley leads older Stockbridge and Jonesboro jobs, Terrance Boykin takes the long-haul I-75 lane to Atlanta and Macon, and Jared Meeks handles Henry County subdivisions plus full-pack.

  • Every job gets its flat rate signed before loading starts, pollen or ice storm or blazing July heat
  • Whoever loads you here is who unloads you there — your move never gets handed to a subcontractor
  • We carry our own commercial insurance and settle any claim right here, ourselves

This has been family-owned since day one — the voice on the phone and the driver in your driveway both answer to me, so your move never slips into the gap between a call center and a stranger.

Wade Bishop — Owner of Roy Bishop House Movers

Name’s Wade Bishop. My dad, Roy, put the company on the road in 2012 with one box truck and a simple idea: give people a real price up front instead of an hourly meter that only ever climbs. I came up riding those trucks, and when Dad stepped back I took the wheel — so the outfit still carries his name, and a Bishop still answers when you call. What he set down hasn’t moved an inch: the figure gets signed before we load, everyone who steps off the truck is one of our own uniformed W-2 movers, and your call never lands in some call center a few states over. Working South Metro Atlanta — spring pollen, summer storms, red-clay drives, the odd winter ice day, the narrow older lots of Jonesboro and the newer Henry County subdivisions alike — taught us how to guard a load in any condition, and that’s the standard on every job we run.
